About Me
I am a sociologist focusing on technology and innovation. I study the social impacts of emerging technologies and work to foster realistic expectations about their capabilities. I am particularly interested in formats such as competitions, challenges, and participatory procedures in technology development with a focus on robotics.
My academic career includes positions at TU Dortmund, TU Berlin, and TU Chemnitz. During my doctoral studies at TU Berlin, where I was a fellow of the DFG Research Training Group “Innovation Society Today”, I examined how competitions and similar formats structure innovation processes and shape the development paths of new technologies, combining qualitative empirical research with perspectives from innovation studies and organizational sociology.
As a sociologist of technology, I am used to engaging with technical problem settings, translating between different professional languages, and supporting collaborative processes across institutional and disciplinary boundaries.
